December 2021
Since its launch in December 2021, our Women’s Empowerment Walk Club has blossomed into a vibrant community, welcoming over 1,900 women of all ages and backgrounds. Created by our founder and CEO, this initiative aims to empower women during Covid-19 through the simple yet impactful act of walking, providing a fantastic opportunity for those who may have been inactive to take the first step towards improved mental and physical health.
Each week, our dedicated volunteers and walk leaders host at least three walks, with up to 30 women participating in each session. These walks cater to all abilities, ensuring that everyone feels included and supported. Under the guidance of our committed volunteer walk leaders, the club has become a vital part of our community’s social fabric, helping participants forge new friendships, build their confidence, and make healthier life choices. Each step taken together is a step towards empowerment, joy, and connection.
This initiative exemplifies how a community-driven programme can thrive independently, without reliance on external organisations or funding. By doing so, we can provide sustainable services that continue as long as there is a need for them.
